01When do residency semesters start in Nice?
Nice comes under the ARS Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. According to the ARS, the winter placement runs from November to April, and the summer placement from May to October.
The 2026-2027 winter semester starts in November 2026. The next semester change is set for 3 May 2027.

02Can one lease cover two residency semesters?
A semester lasts 6 months. It fits within a bail mobilité, which runs from 1 to 10 months.
Two consecutive semesters, from November to October, make 12 months. The bail mobilité covers 10 months at most. Beyond that, a new lease on the same home falls under the standard furnished lease.
For a funded fellowship, the institution, the foundation or the laboratory can rent in its own name, from 3 months.
03Where are CHU Pasteur 2 and the Centre Antoine Lacassagne?
The Pasteur 2 hospital of the CHU de Nice is at 30 voie Romaine, Nice. Tram line 1 serves it, at the Hôpital Pasteur stop.
The Centre Antoine Lacassagne is a cancer treatment centre. It is at 33 avenue de Valombrose, Nice.
04How long does it take to get to the hospital from the home?
The Les Piafs des Collines apartment is on Bellet hill, west of Nice. By car, outside traffic:

05How do you get home after a night shift?
A private parking space within the grounds is included in the price. You come back from your shift and park at home.
Check-in is self-service: the access code is sent to you before your move-in date. The check-in inventory is done with the landlord at a time you agree together, on the day you start your post or the day before.

07What is the apartment like?
- The second bedroom, of 12.88 m², serves as a study to prepare your shifts, your staff meetings or your thesis.
- It also hosts a partner or a visiting relative.
- Two shower rooms, one of them en suite with a walk-in shower.
- An island kitchen with induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer.
- A laundry veranda with washing machine and tumble dryer.
- Fibre internet installed.
- Bed linen and towels provided on arrival.
08When should you book housing for your residency?
As soon as your posting is known. Only one apartment is offered. Once rented, it is taken for the whole length of the lease.
For the May 2027 semester, your request can go out as soon as you have your posting, without waiting for 3 May.
